'A View of Sligo'
For those in a hurry....
We pass Dolly's Cottage, [thatched museum] travelling by St. Ann's Church to a vantage point where we can enjoy a stunning view of Sligo Bay, returning part of the way on a charming country lane back to Strandhill Lodge.

'Dorrin Strand'
We drive past Dolly's Cottage, which is Strandhill’s only remaining thatched house. It is now a small museum. [If it’s open, you should take a look inside.....] Turning down, overlooking Coney Island and the airport we will drive along the shore of Dorrin and Cumeen Strand [international wild foul reserve] on a very bumpy track , passing the ruins of old Strandhill House. Making our way back up a quiet country lane passing charming cottages, we will reach the Sligo road and return to Strandhill overlooking all of Sligo Bay, Rosses Point and Slieve League seacliffs in Donegal Bay, not to mention Benbulben and Lissadell.

'Ballisadare Bay'
We leave Strandhill overlooking Culleenamore beach, with the dunes and the seal banks on your right with the dramatic steep slopes of Knocknarea to your left. Trotting past Ransboro Church we will turn down towards Ballisadare Bay with its rich wildlife and stunning views of the Ox mountains on the far shore. Slowly working our way back up trough Kellystown, we will trace our steps back towards Strandhill with the slopes of Knocknarea appearing ever closer.
Bring binoculars for this tour.

'All around Knocknarea'
This tour will bring you all around the famous mountain, passing Culleenamore with its dunes and seal banks, visiting Kellystown Shrine, trotting along the shore of Ballisadare Bay and its mud flabs and a good view of the Ox mountains.
We then arrive at Carrowmore Visitors Centre where you can have a look at Ireland's finest stone circles and tombs, while the horse takes a well deserved break.
Leaving Carrowmore, we continue our journey through country lanes to Scarden where you are overlooking all of Sligo Bay, Coney Island, Oyster Island and Black Rock lighthouse at Rosses point, also Ben Bulben still shadowing the Yeats country. On a clear day you might be able to spot Slieve League in Donegal, the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
